Bugs to the Rescue!

Bugs to the Rescue! was a program we rolled out with the Queensland Government as part of their ‘Engaging Science’ grant during 2022.

We are excited to be able to share our knowledge of bugs, and as part of this project are delivering interactive science sessions at local schools to demonstrate the beneficial role of insects (‘rescuing the river from pests’), and how we can work alongside them.  Through ‘Bugs to the Rescue’ students learn that insects are increasingly being used to manage pests in commercial farming, fight weeds, pollinate our crops and native plants and even as a food source!

Bugs to the Rescue’s approach is to encourage and foster engagement by students in the natural and environmental sciences through fun, hands-on activities.
