Addlington Creekcare

Seqwater Addlington Creekcare - Neighbourhood Partnership Program

The Addlington Creekcare program is a community driven water quality improvement program developed by Landsborough residents in collaboration with Mooloolah River Landcare (MRL) and Seqwater.

The program reflects the needs and interests of local residents whilst protecting the quality of the local drinking water supplies and providing positive environmental outcomes for Addlington Creek and the local community.

Residents with property along Addlington Creek and tributaries within 25 km upstream of Seqwater’s water supply intake at Ewen Maddock Dam are invited to participate in the program.

Eligible residents can choose the level of involvement and benefits they receive.

Joining Addlington Creekcare helps residents access financial incentives* aimed at saving time and money whilst restoring your property’s natural environment.

A partnership approach to protecting local drinking water quality and Addlington Creek Seqwater delivers quality drinking water supply across Southeast Queensland. Water comes from Lake Baroon Pocket Dam and goes to Caloundra’s drinking water supply.

Ewen Maddock Dam was constructed in two stages in 1976 and 1983 across Addlington Creek, a tributary of the Mooloolah River. Located on the Sunshine Coast, Ewen Maddock Dam is part of South East Queensland’s drinking water supply.

Seqwater operates an integrated water network called the SEQ Water Grid. This means that sometimes your water may also come from other parts of the region including Baroon Pocket Dam on the Sunshine Coast and North Pine Dam, near Brisbane.

Water quality coming into the treatment plant really matters. People who own land along the Addlington Creek play a vital role in protecting water quality which is why protecting water quality is a partnership approach between Seqwater, MRL and Landsborough residents.
