Water Quality Monitoring

For 20 years, Mooloolah River Landcare has monitored water quality at defined locations along our beautiful river.

The testing parameters are: ph, electrical conductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, temperature and salinity. This important initiative is supported by the Sunshine Coast Council’s Environment Levy Partnership (ELP) grants program.

To complement this program, we hold regular macro-invertebrate monitoring events. All of our data is logged into the national waterbug database, a nationwide waterway monitoring initiative to grow the body of knowledge on the health of our waterways.

Our community macro-invertebrate study days, supported by Unity water, are on the 4th Saturday of the month from 9am-1pm. All are welcome, so come join us!  Email Jessica if you’d like to be involved: [email protected]
